Ah, the 5th anniversary of his death. Tom still saw the blood, the sharp reminder not to use chainsaws alone. It took weeks to get past the shock. More to accept he'd died. Sue opened the closet, and he slipped out with the coat. Still need to figure out this wall thing.

The party was a disaster. She left the courthouse late, and the cake melted in her car. Half her friends decided to boycott, saying divorce wasn't something to celebrate. Ha. They hadn't been married to Fred. She stabbed her fork into the cake. They hadn't got half his assets either.

Our enemy buzzed in the trees, a constant reminder of danger. Hours turned to days turned to weeks, but still no ambush.
